Rounding off the original line-up was Cormac Byrne, who has moved on to bigger and brighter things.
In his absence we’re enlisting the uber-talented Mark Scanlon, who was instrumental (if you’ll excuse the pun) in recording, producing and mastering the original abum, so there’s some nice symmetry there.
The inimitable Jody Briggs will be joining the fray on additional guitars, because you can never have enough guitars.
A Brief History of Superstar Nomads
Superstar Nomads: a name so awesome it’s a shame it’s wasted on a band that – let’s face it – barely ever existed.
Still, being nomads, they seemed destined to wander back into each other’s orbits every so often. After short-lived efforts at a reunion in 2005, a brief stab at some new songs in 2008, one or two rough renditions in people’s kitchens or around bonfires over the years, their determination is finally paying off.
It’s been a while – 2 decades since their debut almost-album “There’ll be Bricks”, a 9-song oddity recorded in 2002 before they’d ever played a single gig. And they never did. That elusive live performance seemed eternally fated to linger just beyond the horizon.
Until now.
Superstar Nomads are reuniting for one night only (correct at time of going to print, but who knows?).
